I had the opportunity to meet and photograph Rachel and her sweet daughter Adalyn because of my best friend, Victoria. They work together and Rachel had seen the photos I took for Victoria in the past and loved them. She wanted me to capture her first Mother's Day with her sweet 4 month old!

Rachel and her husband's road to pregnancy has been the hardest I've ever personally known. A lot, and I mean everything, went into their journey to get pregnant. I was praying from the sidelines before we even met. Then she finally had her positive test. Their experience makes me all the more grateful at how Lee and I have been so blessed, and I try to not take it for granted. Through it all, Rachel and Trey have the brightest outlook on life, and the warmest of hearts. After our session together, we stayed talking for about 30 minutes which felt so easy and effortless. They truly are some amazing people, and such sweet parents.

Our planning for her session was less than a week! But being so responsive to my many messages, emails, and questions, it went seamlessly! I actually had a wedding to attend the same day our session was scheduled for, which meant my go-to 2 hours before sunset was not possible. We had to have a morning session - I am not a morning person! I work nightshift as an RN at a hospital! After working one night, that following morning, I went to the State House to scope out what locations I would want to use. And oh my goodness. The morning was GORGEOUS. I immediately texted Rachel that having an early morning session was the plan, and she was more than happy to do it!

This is my first morning session, and I have to admit, I would love to do more! Waking up might have been hard, though I don't think I slept much that night before, but the end product was so worth it! Adalyn was such a sweet baby throughout, and we were able to catch a smile here and there while "Part of Your World" by The Little Mermaid was playing, her favorite. I left feeling so so great to have photographed the love between mother and baby, but also to have made some new friends!
