Gibson Pond Park

Maternity SESSION

I feel like this was BY FAR my favorite session at this park!! The weather was so incredibly beautiful. The sun was sunning.

This was such a special photoshoot for me!

Lyndsey and Tylor are family! She is Lee's cousin and they were best friends growing up. Lee was Lyndsey's Man of Honor at her and Tylor's wedding, and Lyndsey was Lee's Best Matron at our wedding. What made this pregnancy extra special is because Lyndsey and Tylor were told the odds weren't in their favor. Lyndsey experienced a life-threatening accident a couple years back that lead to her needing physical rehabilitation to regain her basic mobility that I know I take for granted most of the time, like walking. I admire Lyndsey in all she's been through; just conquering odds left and right. And Tylor being a supportive partner for her is so amazing.

It was the summer before they got pregnant that I got word that Lyndsey and Tylor were trying. I was over the moon for them! I wanted so badly for them to experience what it's like to love the way we love our girls. Their road to pregnancy was not an easy one as they anticipated; but even then it didn't make it any easier.

Just like Lee told me Lyndsey needed to be told before we made it public when we were pregnant, they did the same for us, and Lyndsey told us they were pregnant right before they announced publicly. We were incredibly excited, and it's the level of deserving when you know the struggle they've faced that makes the news even more special. AND they're having a boy! The first out of all the cousins to have a boy!

I wasn't expecting to be contacted to photograph their maternity photos, as I don't ever expect anyone, but when she did message me to, I felt so deeply honored. And I was so excited to!

We ended up choosing to go to Gibson Pond Park in Lexington, SC (my fav), and I feel like this was BY FAR my favorite session at this park. We did have to compete for space as there were (I'm not exaggerating) 6 other photographers there doing their own sessions at the same time we were. But it's fine! I have my go-to spots that weren't too populated. The weather was so incredibly beautiful. The sun was sunning. They were perfect as far as posing and willing to do anything I asked of them. I seriously have so many favorites from this shoot. They just look so beautiful, and they were amazing to work with.

Sending Lyndsey and Tylor their final gallery, I hoped they loved it, but like always, I never really know unless a client tells me. I am my own worst critic Lee always tell me, as we all are. But she ended up texting me not long after with an abundance of gratitude, stating that this session was so special for them both because they didn't know if they ever would have had the opportunity to do one. And they did. And it turned out so beautiful.

Thank you, Lyndsey and Tylor, for letting me be the one to capture something so special! I love how they turned out!!
