GIBSON POND PARK

Family SESSION

The pattern in Adalyn's dress gave so much interest to the photo with a great pop of color, and Rachel's dress was light and neutral that also looked so beautiful on her!

Another one of my favorite families to photograph!

Oh, my goodness I love spending time with Rachel and her husband, Trey, and the sass of adorable Miss Adalyn. When Rachel and I get together, I would say a good chunk of our session is just us talking about anything and everything. I know her through my best friend, Victoria, who worked with her! Victoria is actually the reason Rachel connected with me in the first place to do some photos of her and Adalyn all the way back in 2022 for Mother's Day. I've been extremely thankful that she enjoyed our first session so much, that she has used me as their photographer a handful more times.

This location! You guys know it's a Selina Fav. Gibson Pond Park is just SO gorgeous. Especially at this time of year with the trees changing and the weather being just right. My absolute favorite spot is when the sun is setting behind the pond. It gives such soft warm colors and looks so dreamy. That's why I tend to end the session there and start the session at a place where the sun won't be too harsh when it hasn't started setting yet.

Adalyn is getting so, so big from when I first started photographing her. She's still a tiny toddler who knows what she wants, and that's NOT to look at my camera and smile. I usually have to resort to making loud noises or singing to get her to snap her eyes at me for a second, or if I really need to, I'll take out my phone and put on her favorite song from The Little Mermaid! That always gets her attention! She was doing pretty good at our first location, but when we moved to our second location, she was most definitely done, and we were just going with her flow. We did get some really adorable ones where she's smiling in my general direction! I seriously love her.

I really loved the outfit choices for this session. They were meshing fall photos with Christmas in mind! Adalyn's dress was so perfect. The pattern in her dress gave so much interest to the photo with a great pop of color, and Rachel's dress was light and neutral that also looked so beautiful on her. I am always encouraging my clients if they ask to go towards neutral and/or earthy tones because they not only photograph the best, but it makes editing on my part that much easier as well!

With family sessions, I always try to make sure that each parent gets their individual time to shine with their kiddos, but also to have portraits of them as a couple without their kids! I think it's incredibly important to have some photos as a couple because that's where the family started. I make a point to create a mini couples shoot of the parents at a family session in case the parents don't have any current photos together!

Thank you, Rachel and Trey for continuing to trust me to capture your family!

Enjoy some of my favorite images from their family session!
